Prizm Content Connect (PCC) Local File Viewer is a Windows application that works in conjunction with PCC to allow you to open files on your local machine in a web browser. Through the configuration application or by configuring command line parameters in the installation program, the Local File Viewer can be registered as the default viewer for a variety of files types, including PDF, Office files, JPG, TIFF, and several AutoCAD formats. This can be a useful alternative or addition to running the HTML5 viewer as a zero footprint web browser. For additional details, refer to the Local File Viewer Help File on Accusoft.com.
While based on the latest version of the HTML 5 viewer that ships with Prizm Content Connect, there are a few differences. The Local File Viewer supports most of the functionality available in the PCC Viewer, with the exception of annotations and redactions. Annotations and redactions will be added in a future release. In addition, the viewer API’s and customization options supported in the PCC product are not currently supported in the Local File Viewer.
A web server with PCC installed is required to be running on a machine that has PCC installed in order for Local File Viewer to function. This can be either installed on the user’s local machine (suitable for offline file viewing), or on a network (typical PCC installation).
